Kui Hai Solidarity Festival

The Kui people hold the Bun Phka Samaky (Solidarity Ceremony) every year between January and April, when the weather is dry and they have finished harvesting their crops.

A traditional dance performance and other performances centered on Kui knowledge and wisdom take place over the course of the ceremony’s two or three days. One of the primary reasons they organize the ceremony is to ask for blessings of peace and happiness from their ancestors. People only congregate at the pagoda to give alms to the monks who live there.
