As of 2024, the Ministry of Rural Development has recognized 184 Indigenous communities across the country. Indigenous self-identification is one of three processes that Indigenous communities must complete in order to register their land as collective land titles. The other two processes are legal entity recognition by the Ministry of Interior and land title recognition by the Ministry of Land. All of these processes took years to complete and were extremely expensive.

The table below lists Indigenous communities that have been identified as Indigenous Peoples by the Ministry of Rural Development.
